It seems Amazon has stopped selling Xbox Live titles on their website, which I didn’t even know they did to begin with. I knew you could buy Xbox games and points on their website, but never knew you could buy the Live Games. Must’ve been something, especially with their sales.
No explanation was given about why they decided to pull this feature, but maybe it means Microsoft is changing the way you buy Live games? One could hope, especially when the Marketplace could definitely use a overall – both on the Xbox site and on the 360 itself – only time will tell, but for now speculation abounds.
*UPDATE* It seems that the reason for this end is that Microsoft and Gamestop signed a deal for Gamestop to sell instore xbox live codes, meaning you can now trade in that old game and put money towards a code to get an Xbox Live game. While it is awesome, it means that we can no longer rely on the awesome service provided by Amazon, where we could research the game a head of time, now if we need to do research, we gotta use our smartphones… (Joystiq)
