There is a new rumor running around, that Apple may be adding iAds to books downloaded on from their iBooks store. While this would mean a continuous cash flow from books, even after you buy the book, it also means you may see a splash of color at the bottom of your books.

One good thing about this could mean that Books that would normally cost you 10 bucks, may be brought down in price with the promise of ad clicks and revenue from them. But, who would want ads in their books? I know I wouldn’t. I’m all for people finding new and inventive ways to make money, however adding ads to a book shouldn’t be one way.

Uh-oh. While looking for a new Ad Website, I happened to stumble across Chikita. While looking through their blog, I noticed this interesting post about Google’s Android. Looking at this graph, you may say “That just means more Android Apps have ads!” however, from this graph you see something VERY interesting.

Android user’s are more likely to click on an ad then iPhone and iPad users. While, yes, combined Apple’s userbase is more valuable then Google’s operating system, however when you realize that there are three different Apple products out there, this becomes that much more impressive. So, that means people with apps for Android can make more money then people with apps for iPhones and iPads.

Google has really been in the news recently, and it is for good reason. They’ve just been updating things left and right. The newest thing to feel the update fever has been the mobile version of Google Finance and believe me, it needed a good update.

CNET has learned something interesting happening to Gmail, it seems that Google has been testing Gmail Call, where you can have the ability to call any phone, both in the US and Canada, for free. Google already lets you do this with Google Voice, however that requires you have a cell phone, as it calls your phone and then the person your calling. With this, you can just place the call and use the Mic and Speakers on your laptop or desktop and talk to someone.

Aside from a little paragraph explaining what happened, there’s not much else about it. Yahoo is now being powered by Bing search results, something that has been being worked on for sometime. This is a relationship that will likely be benefitial to both sides, mostly Microsoft because it means Bing! will be getting a part of the userbase of the Yahoo Search and will be getting money from the ads being placed.

Still, I would much rather either use Google or go to the Bing! website itself, instead of using Yahoo to show me Bing! results.

The cool guys over at Droid-Life pointed out in a news post that Flash 10.1 is available to Android 2.2 phones in the Android Market, except it was only for Root users. However, if you want Flash on your non-root phone that has Android 2.2, then head on over to Droid-Life where they have the APK file hosted!

It seems that Google is finally adding Push Notifications to it’s iPhone apps package. This is good news to anyone that relies heavily on Google’s slew of online apps. They can now sync their phone, just as before, and get push notifications for Gmail and Google Calendar. Your gonna have to update them from the App Store, but it’s definitely a welcomed update, especially since Gmail debuted with the iPhone and it didn’t have this function out of the box.

Ever missed an appointment or important email because you were away from your desk? Now Google Mobile App can help with push notifications from your Google account to your iPhone — an icon badge shows you’ve got new mail in Gmail, and Google Calendar event reminders appear right on your home screen.

Google seems to have hit a MAJOR milestone this passed weekend! It has been reported that over 100 Million people are now using Google Maps Mobile. That’s around 45% of the United States population using Maps Mobile for some search or directions a month.

It seems the rumor mill is a buzz again today, with news that Verizon and Apple are still in talks to bring the iPhone to the best wireless provider in United States (Having tried T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon, I can say this with confidence.)

It’s been known for sometime that Verizon is beginning to lay out plans, as well as getting ready to start constructing the infrastructure, for their LTE Network (4G network). It seems, however that they are also planning on coming out with something called SVDO that would allow for Date and Talk to be done at the sametime, something most phones on Verizon network (Okay, all) can’t do, but that the iPhone on AT&T can do without breaking a sweat.

It’s premature to think that Verizon will never get the iPhone, as it is natural for a company to want to make money and having a phone available on as many wireless providers would make sense. The snag, seems to be however, that Apple and Verizon are trying to decide if they should release a iPhone 4 as an SVDO device or wait for the iPhone 4G to be released (iPhone 5)

Still, being a first-gen iPhone user, I would LOVE to get an iPhone on Verizon’s network, especially since AT&Ts sucks for the greater New York area.

Well, well, well… Those guys over at XDA-Developers can sure work wonders. As anyone who’s ever purchased a phone and tried to get it unlocked, it’s a hassle. Carriers don’t like it when you buy a phone from them, only to cancel the service a few months later and get a cheaper service from a competitor. Many times, they just don’t wanna unlock the phone for you.

Well, it seems that the Samsung Galacy S series (Captivate on AT&T and the Vibrant on T-Mobile) are actually easy to unlock, thanks to a tool developed by Xda-Developer.

This is cool, but remember you always download and use these tools at your own risk, as there is always the chance that you can brick your phone and void your warranty, but hey, you already know that if you looking at the Xda website, right?

I love Capital One, don’t get me wrong, but it’s beginning to seem like Bank of America is the bank to get behind. Bank of America announced the other day that they have signed up a few major corporations to help them test their new Mobile Payments platform. Instead of using your credit card, you would have to have a special SD Card inserted into your phone (Don’t worry iPhoners, there’s apparently an addon you can use) and you would wave your phone in front of a reader and bam, your payment will be received.

This differs from what the Carriers are working on, where the chip is pre-installed into the phone, instead of using up your SD Card slot. Regardless of who ends up being the first out of the door with a fully working model, being able to not have to carry around your wallet (When your just hanging out with friends) is sounding nice. Now, if we can just get these things to be accepted at Bars and Restaurants!

Apparently, LG is making a tablet and not just any tablet, they are making the iPad Killer that every company with a mobile division is trying to come up with. A company that has shown that even being late to the game means nothing *cough* smartphones *cough* can accomplish huge things, especially with their goal to sell 5 million units by the end of the year…

The folks over at Engadget got a very big surprise when Dell sent them a prototype for their upcoming Android Phone, the Dell Thunder. From the screenshots and video they took, the phone looks and runs beautifully and is a great high end addition to the Android phone line-up. (Screenshot below from their gallery)

Currently, there’s no definite date on when the phone should be released, however the phone that they were sent is a prototype back from April and some changes may have occurred to the software and/or hardware. If your thinking of trying out an Android phone or looking for a new android phone, definitely check out their exclusive preview (Link) and definitely wait until it is released, is definitely worth the wait!

Remember the Palm Pre, the phone that was supposed to kill the iPhone and that was made by Palm? Well, it looks like the WebOS will be getting a bit of an upgrade, when it moves from being on a small screen phone to a medium screen tablet. 9to5 Mac has confirmed that HP is indeed working on a WebOS tablet with the multi-tasking abilities everyone was so fond of on the phone (Minus the small screen and sub-par processor.).

Hopefully, this tablet will sync and play nicely with the apps already on the Palm WebOS Market, and if it does would mean a big explosion of apps on said market. The tablet is due out sometime in 2011, around the same time the rumored Motorola/Google Android tablet is supposed to be hitting Verizon stores.
